Day 3 - placid

She managed to escape.

At last, she can clear her head.
It has been a while since she was awarded a moment's peace.
A much needed rest was in order.

The racing beat of her heart was no more heard.

She listened intensely.
Still breathing, that's a good sign.
She was not dead.

She looked around.
The rain was pouring to her soul.

Then suddenly, time caught up with her.

Altrui

She was the meat of the gossips.

In their opinion, she never seemed to last in anyone's company.
But they were wrong.

She enjoyed having a good companion.
Someone who understands her.
Somebody whom she can trust and share her thoughts,
her dreams, her desires.

And in turn, she will do the same.

That was what she needed - a true friend.

Passive

"He doesn't love you. Get over it. Move on."

These words found comfort in her mind,
creating an iron-clad protection for her heart.

Through the years, she found sanctuary in solidarity.

Emotions may linger on her side,
but she never entertained any of them.

She must not have any assumptions. No hasty decisions.

Others see this as trouble.
But she knew better, she saw this as salvation.
She wasn't ready to risk her heart once more.

Their story

She has always loved him.

They were friends, nothing more... Very typical.
But she felt something else, more than that of friendly love.

Everyday was blissful hell.
She was with him but they were never together.

C'est la vie. That is life.
He gives her sweets and a cuddly bear.
But that was it. They were friends, that was all.
She didn't want to assume.

Who could blame her?
She doesn't want to get hurt.

Day 2 - it was him

Her phone was ringing loud...
HA! The perks of living in a modern world...
One push of a button can connect you to anyone in the world.

Getting in touch shouldn't have been so hard...
But then again, technology can only do so much...

A triumph of one unfulfilled soul.
The ways the mind has of protecting the heart.

She did not answer. The ringing stops.
The person on the other line is getting tired of the routine.

Day 1 - point of no return

The day was Saturday...

She was on the run, again...

A few hours earlier, she was lying in bed - unaware of the trouble awaiting her.
She was sound asleep, a rare occasion because of the demands of the outside world.

A nice long dream - a dream that she never should have entertained.
It was too late, she was careless..

And for that, she has to face the consequences.

Poor girl... She'd wish she never closed her eyes.
