Boggle

Her mind resembles overlapping puzzles.

It was beyond complication.
Beyond thinking one thing and doing another.

It was more like separate ideas conquering one another.
Intervening emotions and voices whispering not only to her ears.

Her heart seemed lost and her mind was clueless.
Her soul had no idea of the flesh's whereabouts.

Indecisiveness was troublesome for others.
For her, it was part of the solution.

Inevitably, avoiding hasty decisions lead to yet another
seemingly negative outcome - procrastination.
But then, again, the effect was the opposite.

Procrastination became the very thing that came to her rescue.
The safety net that was vital to prevent damnation.

Inverted frown

It seemed eons ago since that tragedy trembled her humor.

Those Friday nights when they sat at home in front of the tube.
Laughing their heart out.

In a blink of an eye, the moments were gone.
Even the memories were wiped out by her fury.
Her tears of laughter turned inevitably to that of sadness.

She loathed the sight of the thieves who robbed her of such joy.
They tried to amuse her but she only grieved some more.

Now, a decade has passed.
All's forgotten. All has passed.

But then again, nothing lasts forever.

Tonight, a Friday night.
She found herself giggling once more.

Then it hit her.
How can something that took her laughter once,
be the very thing that now tickles her heart.

Day 5 - Pathway

She walked with a purpose.
Every stride was utilized in order to get there on time.
This was always the case.

Her legs revolted with a fury.
But she does not care.

They can rest when she's dead.

No time to pause for a chat.
A raise of an eyebrow was considered a pleasant hello.
She needed to get there on time.

Every other success depends on how well she can cope with the demands of here and now.
She was young and vigorous.
And for now, her energy is all she has in order to fight her way through life.

Day 4 - Quiescere (to rest)

She just sat there.
Waiting for the day to start.

She was left conscious at the break of dawn.
Though every other soul was deep asleep.

It was a day of rest after all.
The Sabbath.

Yet her mind was restless.
And with that, her body suffers the consequences.

She is exhausted.
Though the sun was just about to reveal itself.
